Brown Rice, Dates and Peppered Bacon

Ingredients:

Amount Ingredient
1 c California premium medium grain, brown rice, uncooked
2 1/4 c water
1/2 c dried dates, chopped
3 sli peppered bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/4 c chives, chopped
1 T maple syrup

Directions:

1| Combine rice and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a soft boil.

2| Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 50 minutes or until liquid is adsorbed.

3| Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 10 minutes before serving. Let rice cool slightly.

4| Immediately stir in the remaining ingredients. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot or cold.
