Big hurdle cleared
June 14, 2010
What a great feeling to finally have all the fieldwork for the 2010 rice crop done. It was a struggle and will hopefully be the worst spring planting I will ever have. I can't imagine how the weather could be more uncooperative.

This photo is of one of my bulldozers closing up around the rice boxes in the last double crop field. Harrison is the operator and he has improved greatly from not knowing how to start the tractor just six weeks ago. He really got the hang of it. My crew has left the field for good until fall.
The fate of my fields is now in the hands of the watermen, crop dusters and ultimately Mother Nature.
I hope she's good to me.

He farms in Yolo, Colusa, and Sutter Counties with his wife Melissa, and three kids, Hannah, Gus, and Mary. He enjoys being in the fields, watching the seasons, and sharing it with his family.
