The "California Premium Rice" origin mark was designed to increase awareness of California rice directed toward foodservice packaging in the U.S.

Our family farms' dedication to growing a premium medium and short grain rice has resulted in world-class rice that has become an emerging star among culinary professionals.

Origin Mark Objective – Foodservice

Increase awareness of rice grown in California, its brands, its premium quality medium and short rice varieties, and usage in regional and world cuisine.

Origin Mark Support

Every year we promote our origin mark and brands through the materials like brochures, recipes and two websites that target foodservice professionals. In addition, our materials are also distributed at key food events focused on Asian and Mediterranean cuisine.

In 2005, we developed SushiMasters the first ever California state sushi competition which brought eight California chefs to Sacramento to compete in various categories. SushiMasters 2006 took place on September 18, 2006 at the Memorial Auditorium.

Enrollment Process

Usage of this logo is free and a company can enroll by entering into an Agreement with the California Rice Commission. To use the official logo, interested marketers must follow the terms and conditions and "Exhibit 1" guidelines of this licensing agreement.
